Reflection On This Week
I have been enjoying the National Week of Prayer all throughout this week. It's so encouraging to see people brave out the cold weather temperatures and come pray with the Warren First Assembly family each night. There have been hundreds of prayer needs that have been submitted to the church for prayer. The needs have ranged from needing a job, salvation for a son or daughter, stronger marriage, overcoming loneliness and depression, financial, and wanting a closer relationship with God. We believe that prayer changes things. We believe that God will answer these requests that have been submitted this week!
Some things God spoke to me this week:
1.) Waiting On God
Some things God spoke to me this week:
1.) Waiting On God
- It's hard just to wait. It goes against our culture to just wait, but sometimes waiting on God is the best thing you can do. We are a people who don't like to wait. We don't want wait for our food. We don't want to wait in line. We want what we want without a wait. We want the answer's to life tough questions now. I was encouraged this week to be patience and wait. Waiting on God is a sign of putting your complete trust in God
- Often times it's so easy to rely on our own understanding rather than rely on the Spirit of God. I never want to get away from completely relying on the Holy Spirit in everything I do. Jesus gave us this "helper" (the Holy Spirit) forever (John 14). The Holy Spirit will guide and direct you if you just allow Him too.
- Real prayer is life creating and life changing
- Real prayer is something we learn. It's a process.
- Prayer is a primary meaning of loving others. If we really love people we are going to pray for them!

National Week of Prayer
Momentum Students!
This is the National Week of Prayer week for many churches around the world. What this means is that many churches and organizations will gather every night this week and just PRAY. Millions of prayer requests will be going to the Lord ranging from healing of the body, a job, salvation for a son or daughter, or wanting a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
At Warren First Assembly we will be having prayer services every night in the sanctuary for 1 hour. During that 1 hour you will have the opportunity to pray with other believers (if you desire), journal, pray with a pastor or youth leader, or simply just spend some quality time by yourself with the Lord.
I want to encourage you students to be really thinking about what you want God to do in your life this year. You might be going through a rough time with your family, struggling with keeping your grades up in school, having a hard time making friends, or struggling with trying to find your identity. I don't know what it is, but I do know that God wants to help you. All you have to do is just ASK! Sometimes this is the hardest step because we as humans think we can do it on our own. We have this mentality that if I just keep waiting and waiting things are going to get better. Don't wait. Why Wait. Students you have the opportunity to talk to the God of the universe! The God who is bigger than all your problems, all your troubles, and all your worries. A God who is so great, but yet so accessible. He makes Himself available for us, and actually desires to helps us in our times of need.
Students, will you believe? Will you believe that God wants to help you, guide you, and love you. I want you to also know that Momentum Student Ministries and the entire Youth Leadership Team is believing with you and for you for great things to happen in your life!

Social Media Etiquette
Momentum Students, I ran across this article a couple of weeks about social media and wanted to share. I summarized most of it.
1.) Don't Tweet Mostly About Yourself-what you are doing, speaking engagements, travel, how cool you are
2.) Don't Retweet-only good things about you, or your book, your product or your brand. Promote others' content more than your own
3.) Don't Include "Please RT!" in your tweets, use bad English, too many WORDS IN ALL YOUR CAPS or too many explanation marks!!!!!
4.) Don't Crowd Your Social Feeds With "Check-Ins" from all the glamorous places you've been
5.) Don't Post Something In A Highly Emotional State or without taking the time to consider whether it should be shared or not
6.) Don't Post Important Life News on social media before communicating to your closet friends or family in person
7.) Don't Spend More Time on social media than you spend communicating to people face to face
8.) Don't Flaunt Your Relationships by having public interactions on social media. Talk to people privately. Email, chat, and direct message will do just fine
9.) Don't Have Awkward Fights or edgy back and forths in public
10.) Don't Post Something With Big Implications without running it by a few people
Let's try to consider these things as we post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media network sites!

The Last Event
Remember Momentum Students, this Sunday is our lockin! We are joining up with other churches in our area for a night of gym games, food, video games, and fellowship! I know most of you did not receive a permission form for this event. You can pick one up from me this Sunday night right before the event with your parent signing it on the spot or picking one up during the Sunday morning service. Remember to pack whatever you need for one night (medicine) and other things. Please when you read this, contact me through Facebook to let me know if your going or not going so I can get a head count!
We will be meeting at the church at 8pm and leaving by vans!

Merry Christmas!
I believe that God has big things in store for Momentum this next year. If we are faithful to God and stay humble before the Lord, God will be with us! On behalf of the Momentum Leadership Team and Pastor Josh, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas! Remember Christmas is not about the gifts, the food, or Santa. It's about Jesus being born into this world as a human, in order that we might know God in a more real, touchable, and tangible way. This is the Good News about Christmas!
Note: There will no Youth Group this Wednesday. Enjoy time with family and friends!

Momentum Students Serving the Community Tomorrow
During this Christmas season Momentum Student's will be serving the people of the Warren city community through one of the ministries of Warren First Assembly of God. Every third Saturday of the month, Warren First provides a ministry that reaches out to people in need through a dinner. This dinner varies every month and is specially prepared by one of our many wonderful cooks in the church.
Momentum Students will be busing tables and making sure the tables are cleaned so that more people can be reached by this ministry. Student's need to be at the church at 3:30pm. The dinner starts at 4pm and goes to 5:30pm. This is a great way for the students to serve others, especially when Christmas is next week! All are welcomed!
